Buhat Araw?

Buhat araw, literally "lift the sun" or "from the sun", is an colloquial Filipino expression that means holding your arm or implement high over your head as if to lift the sun, or striking downward using the largest swing you can as if the strike came from the sun. It is also used as a metaphor to describe something done with maximal effort, akin to "todo buwelo" or "going full swing".

I am RJ Garcia, an arnis instructor with the rank of lakan dalawa in Modern Arnis and the Kali Arnis Martial Arts Organization.

As a function of being a martial artist, I've been constantly interested in finding the most efficient forms of improving physical fitness. Over a year ago, I discovered the Crossfit system, and have been interested in its paradigm ever since. It has both inspired and enabled me to become a more well rounded athlete and deepen my understanding of just how the body works.
